Hello I’m new to this community I’m hoping to meet and share experiences with other people within my local communities

I am 2 years and 5 months living since my diagnosis with all the sea saws of anxieties that this diagnosis brings

this journey we are all following can be a lonely and scary world in which only walking this path can only be appreciated by fellow travellers

im looking to maybe meet up for coffee lunch etc and maybe a little bit of fun

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

You've certainly come to the right place to share experiences with others and to chat to others who will understand what you're going through.

If you're looking to meet up with others in your area, you could pop your postcode or town into Macmillan's In Your Area which will then show you what's available in your area of the country.

As the online community is a public platform, for everyone's safety and online privacy, meetings, etc shouldn't be arranged as it can leave both yourself and those who respond vulnerable to unscrupulous people.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • I would recommend Maggie's if you have a nearby centre. There are also a few specialist ovarian cancer online communities, Ovacome on Health Unlocked being a notable example.  We are a small but supportive community and hopefully you will find people close to where you live.
