Good morning

I am new to this group and just wanted to say Hi, and ask if anyone else has the same diagnosis

I had my 2nd chemo yesterday,I can only have Carboplatin at the moment due to other health issues, so side effects are mild

I have a build up of abdominal fluid which I have had 2 drains done, removing around 12 litres so far.

I amin a very good head space and feeling positive that everything is being done by the wonderful doctors and nurses that can be.

I guess my main question is, has anyone found things that seem to help, outside of the normal drugs and treatments, that can be done alongside. There is so much conflicting information out there, that it makes sense to ask you lovely ladies, as you are the ones who would know

Thank you for your time and I look forward to chatting with you xx

  • Hi

I am glad that you are in a positive headspace. I haven't tried any alternative therapies however my biggest piece of advice would be to listen to your body. Rest when you need to, and don't feel guilty about it, and then make the most of when you are feeling good. Try to get outside regularly even if its a short walk around the block, not only is the exercise good but it is great for blowing away the cobwebs and your wellbeing. I am lucky in that I live close to the beach so I take a little walk, sit on a bench and I can people watch for a couple of hours with one of my mates.

    Take care x

  • Hi

Thank you so much for replying. I live close to a beach as well but my breathing is so bad at the moment I'm afraid the walk is a little too much for now although I am working towards it.

I do spend a lot of time pottering in the garden weather permitting and I find that very therapeutic too.

I wish you all the very best in your journey, and I know joining this forum is going to be a lifeline not just for me but for everyone
