I to have been on and off the site for a while and this is the first time I've posted don't know why but I'm trying to not be so tough on myself and get to know new people. Claire

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

Would you feel comfortable telling us what brings you here, ie your diagnosis and treatment so far?

  • Hi, I was diagnosed in December 2021 with ovarian cancer, I was working, dating, driving, had a great social life and was totally shocked at my diagnosis as my gp etc though I had gallstones and a UTI, I began chemo and them had an op in July 22 to remove ovaries and go see what else could be treated which I was told was more a way of trying to keep the cancer at bay  I then commenced on tablets. After a recent CT scan the cancer has spread to my liver and spleen so I had the most hardest choice to make to have more chemo to maybe give me a year or no treatment and unfortunately have a few more months, my new grandchild is dueij sept and it's my sisters 60th in August both of which I want to see so I chose chemo, I have had 3 sessions which so far indicate my cancer markers have started to go down. I no longer drive, work, date or go out socially but as I'm single I do find things tough  I like to read people's success stories but also would like to maybe chat to someone that's in the same position as me I don't want to be the doom and groomer but unfortunately some of us are not going to be sucess stories

  • Sorry for spelling mistakes and rubbish grammar but even trying to composs an email is tough and tiring.
