Hi I’m newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I’d like some advice/help to set up a blog to keep friends and family informed of my treatment. I know about the blogs on this site which are really useful but this would be a private one, password protected. I’ve heard that WordPress and Wix are easy sites to use. Has anyone got any experience of using them or found any good tutorials that could walk me through the set up?
Hello there Margs! I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I have had a fantastic experience using CaringBridge as a place to keep in touch with friends and family. I post long updates there to save myself from writing a million emails and answering the same questions over and over. It's so easy to use. Here is a link to my journal there, in case you want to see how it looks: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jennifersteil/journal
And here is where you can create your own blog: https://www.caringbridge.org/createwebsite
On the site you can choose who can see your entries, so you can keep it as private as you like. You can also request help, raise money, and do other things. I have found Caring Bridge to be invaluable. I hope it's useful to you too!
Bon courage!!!
