Hi ladies,

Ovarian cancer diagnosis 2021. Now in remission. Would like to know how others feel physically 10 months on?

Thank you

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm not a member of this group but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • I am in my fourteenth month since I was diagnosed, it’s been a very rough time for me personally. I had ascites 3 times so had to have my tummy drained, this put my chemo behind. Then I moved forward with my chemo and unfortunately although the chemo had done its job the scan showed a blood clot in the groin so all this put my operation on hold. I then had a AVC to insert the umbrella so it didn’t move,  during the op. The op was successful thank goodness but then had to have the AVC  removed 8 weeks later and removal of clips. I felt so much better in myself. I suffered very badly with rashes and I have also had trouble with my feet which started during chemo. Just about clearing up.
My oncologist has me on the maintenance drug Niraparib which had taken some getting used to but I’m grateful to be offered them I’m on my fourth month Pray

so be patience, I’m still not strong every day but most definitely getting there. Be positive, love yourself, walk a little every day.
