Hi my mum has just been diagnosed with cancer , it started in her ovaries and has spread to stomach , she is going for a meeting to discuss chemotherapy treatment tomorrow , are there any questions she should be asking ? Any advice would be appreciated

  • Hi

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that you hadn't received any replies to your post. I realise it's too late now to suggest questions for her to ask but I'm sure she'll have had plenty.

How did she get on. I know they have to tell you all the worse-case scenarios but I've just come to the end of chemotherapy for another type of cancer and found it no where near as bad as I thought it might be.

Wishing you and your mum all the best

  • Hi Thankyou for your reply I’ve only just seen this post struggling to get use to this app, hope you had a nice Christmas, my mum goes tomorrow to start her chemotherapy so everything crossed it does the trick , they have told her she will lose her hair but all other side effects depende really on the individual

  • No problem

I started to lose my hair about 2 weeks after my first chemo (beginning of July) but it's growing back and I now have enough to just about cover my scalp Slight smile

Apart from that, I didn't really have any other side-effects so count myself very lucky. I hope your mum will be too.
