Hi

thought I would say hello

I have been on a bit of a journey in July had a scan was diagnosed with ovarian cancer stage 3 by august had hysterectomy and ovaries surgery completed and I am now half way through chemo 3 more sessions to go subject to my response to treatment. It’s been a bit of a journey but I have been lucky to have amazing treatment throughout.
I thought it would be good to be able to chat to others who have had similar experiences this certainly makes you reassess your life and what’s important

lovely to meet you all

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi Nancy46

Sorry you've found yourself here, things seemed to have moved very quickly for you which is both scary but good news!

I'm in a similar situation having not long been diagnosed with stage 3 oc at the start September after a long time back and forth to the GP having been previously told it was IBS. I'm off for my op on the 31st, everything out and then the plunge in to menopause. Tobe honest I'm more concerned about waking up with a colostomy bag than anything else, the surgeon said my laparoscopy looked ok and nothing was seen to be stuck to the bowel and no obvious cancer on there but I know it's still a risk. There won't be a bowel surgeon just hanging around in case I need a resection. (Very rude of them) Joy

But I know I have no choice and need the surgery so I just have to hope for the best. I'll then be getting chemo as soon as possible when I've recovered.

How have you been with your chemo? Were you able to go on hrt?

What a rollercoaster we're all finding ourselves on. X
