Hi this is the first time i have posted. I have ovarian cancer stage 4, i have just finished my 4/6 chemo session, however, i have notice from cycle 3 the pains in my legs are getting unbearable like growing pains from my younger days, i can still remember at 66 yrs.Has anyone any tips to elevate the pain so i can at least sleep at night? I can cope with the tingling in my fingers, but the paracetamol are doing nothing. Many thanks in anticipation.
Hello
Welcome to the Ovarian group. I am sorry to hear of your cancer.
I had similar pain on my chemo for endometrial cancer- carboplatin and paclitaxel.
The tingling can be a sign of neuropathy and the paclitaxel can cause this and also pain.
Best thing to do is to give your CNS or hospital 24 hour helpline a call. The number will likely be on your sepsis alert card. I suggest making a note of the days that it is happening and then when you have your next review you can discuss with your consultant.
If the pain is caused by the paclitaxel then I was given different pain relief. Where the pain is due to neuropathy- then a different type of pain killer is needed. I also found paracetamol did nothing.
Do give them a call though as they will be able to help.
Jane
