Hi everyone
Apologies if I shouldn’t be writing on this group but I didn’t know who else to ask and confide in.
12-18 months ago I started showing symptoms again for Endometriosis following a diagnosis and treatment in 2014. So summer 2021, I was referred for tests and an internal scan. The scan results came back that I had a thickened Endometrium, the consultant said it could be normal for my age (45) but she sent me for blood tests as a precaution. I didn’t hear back after 1 month so assumed all was ok, then out of the blue in November 2021 I received a letter to say my CA125 was 45 and I should book another blood test in 6 months. It had been 4 months since my last blood test so I decided to go for another one at the beginning of February this year.
Due to the delay in advising me on my previous blood test, I was advised to call the hospital for the results so I did that last week and was told it had increased from 45 to 75 and I now have another appointment with my consultant on 31st March to discuss the results.
Of course I’m worried as Google is saying anything above 35 is a red light and possibly cancer! My symptoms don’t relate to cancer but I have suffered with irregular bleeding in the past (I don’t use any form of contraception) the occasional pain in my side when I have a bowel movement, bloating and pain in my hip/side near pelvis area when I go walking a distance. More recently I’ve been experiencing lower back/pelvis pain and pain on my right side by my hip.
Has anyone had similar to this and what was your outcome? I am really open to any feedback, good or bad as 31 March is a long wait so any advice would be welcome.
Many thanks
Mel
Hello Wallace
Welcome to this forum. However, it is a fairly quiet forum so it may be worth you also posting this same post in the Endometrial cancer forum as that forum is far more active.
In terms of your questions I'm sorry but I can't really answer but if cancer is suspected you should be put on a two week pathway. I'm surprised you are not seeing the consultant until 31st March as that seems too far away unless cancer has already been ruled out?
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
