Hi all,
Just joined the club no one wants to join. I am a stubborn, determined optimist and hoping to get through this in the best way I can.... just like everyone else here I'm sure.
I have a chemo/surgery/ chemo plan due to start in a few weeks. I wanted to ask what effects the chemo had on people? I've heard hair loss is likely, but people's levels of sickness etc seem to vary alot... Any pointers for me please?
Thanks so much you beautiful women xx
I like to keep all my hair pretty close cut, so mine is more like a short cut lawn than a big bush anyway
Thanks for the message. Great to know you're tolerating the chemo. Hope it stays that way for you xx
Hi Jax,
Just to say, I had all my chemo sessions done using the cold cap. I was on a weekly rather than 3-weekly regime, so not sure if that’s what made the difference, but I DID manage to keep a good head of hair (probably 90%+)
So for me, despite the extra 1/2 hour pre treatment and 1 hour post treatment that it takes, and the bit of discomfort in wearing it, I would personally recommend giving it a go - at least you can see how it works / feels for you, and if it’s not for you, then nothing lost.
All the best for starting your chemo,
Bx
Thanks so much B that's really good to know. Hope the treatment has worked for you xx
