Hello I'm new to this group,

I recieved the news this week that my CA-125 results was high . Iv been referred to see a gynecologist and have been booked in for scans.

My head is all over the place at the moment with having to wait .

I lost my mum to ovarian cancer which then went into her bones she sadly passed at the young age of 47.

  • Hi. It is a very scary time. So much waiting for you to get scans and find out what's happening. It's hard to get through the days with so much going on in your head.

.My own Mum died at the age of 42 of Breast Cancer that spread through time to the Pancreas, liver and brain.

Thank you for your message , my doctor has referred me for scans got to chase up tomorrow because should have recieved appointments for them .

Its the waiting and not knowing thats playing with my head. I'm trying to stay positive for my children because I can't let them see me fall apart .

Its such a crawl disease don't care how young or old you are.

  • Hi,

So sorry to hear about your CA125.  The waiting for appointments and results is the worst time.

You’re doing the right thing,  chasing up and trying to remain positive.

I’ve had breast and Fallopian tube cancer, and my mum died of  ovarian cancer.   I inherited a faulty BRCA1 gene from her so I can relate to how you’re feeling.

Sending hugs and positive vibes xx

  • Hi. The waiting is hard. It's not easy to keep doing all the normal everyday things .Hope you manage to find out when your scan is today. Your somehow it seems easier when you know what you are facing after all the uncertainty and waiting. You need time to process everything and strength comes from somewhere to get you through.
