I was diagnosed in 2019 with stage 3c ovarian cancer, I had full debulking, including omentum and bowel resection, .. a complete shock, I visited doctor thinking I was allergic to something! 6 months later back in hospital for emergency bowel surgery when scar tissue had wrapped round my bowel resulting in another resection... my last ct scan has shown a “node” which needs to be monitored, I’m having a series of blood tests and another ct scan in 12 weeks to track it’s progress, my oncologist can’t confirm it’s the beast rising it’s ugly head again.... I’m numb, painting on a smiley face every day, when underneath the person inside isn’t coping..... how do any of you ladies cope? I feel like I’m walking thru a fog.
Hi SK527 I agree with you, it's so very hard to act like nothing's amiss when inside you are screaming! With this group you'll be able to discuss your fears, have the occasional rant and get support where you need it. I see you've already replied to a couple of posts.
Reading your post, I think it might also be a good idea for you to join our supportive Bowel cancer and I've flagged the group's Community Champion, court to say hello.
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.
To find more information covering diagnosis and treatments there are pages covering most types of cancers which can be found on our Online Information and Support Section.
