Hi,I was diagnosed with stage 4b advanced ovarian cancer at the age of 40 on 29th October 2019.Had 2 rounds of chemo that unfortunately did not help at all,had 2 1/2 litres fluid drained from arouDog2 my stomach. My oncologist said surgery would ease symptoms therefore giving me a better quality life but would not prolong it.10 hour surgery, three weeks in hospital,no more treatment is availableDog2 have a grown up daughter and a fifteen year old son,Hurts every time I think about the fact I am not going to be here for them,I have no partner, only my Dog2 Tilly who is my Little Rock. There is very little data from research as my cancer is very rare,1 in a million I think.I just feel like I’m waiting to die sometimes!!The ca125 blood test that led to my diagnosis came back over 3000 and the normal is 34 I think, recent bloods show that it now is 100,it was 300 after having the surgery in jan 2020.Feel isolated and feel let down by the non-existence of any decent aftercare.Thankyou for taking time to read my words xxxx

  • Hi Jojo 704,

So sorry to read your post - what a horrible tough couple of years you’ve had Slight frown

Its not right that you should feel so isolated - big C is right, there will be professionals out there who can help. Maybe try the Macmillan helpline for some advise if you haven’t already? - meanwhile, at least you have this group to come to for a bit of support and a chat.

Sounds like your blood markers have continued to go in the right direction and, with new research and treatments coming along all the time, it’s important to keep strong and hopeful and, if you sometimes feel you can’t do it for yourself do it for Tilly Heart. My own fur baby is Lily Cat.

    Thinking of you,

    love Bxx
