Hi there
i am new to this group.
I am 48. January 2020 I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast and after 7 months with sage 2 ovarian cancer.
Ovarian cancer was not result of metastases.
it 2 not connected cancer that was growing in my body at the same time.
Anyone there with similar experience?
Thank you
Nana
Hiya
I first cancer 21 years ago - Breast cancer. Had mastectomy, chemo, radio and 2 years later a diep reconstruction.
In 2019 I got confirmation that I had a BRCA2 mutuation, so I elected for a hysterectomy… they found I’d got Fallopian tube cancer and after a CT scan, breast cancer in the other side. I was 52
Hi Lavender
thank you so much coming back to me.
I finished chemo 2 months ago and as soon I start to feel physically good again I start to have questions why 2 cancers at the same time.
I did all gene tests and they are all negative , which confuses me even more.
Maybe because I will have my first 3 months scanning in August and I am scared they will find cancer number 3
it’s silly to think that way but at the moment that’s where I am.
I hope you are good!
wishing you all the best

I read your post and thought its not just me then!! I had breast cancer in 1999 and had a lumpectomy, 20 years later diagnosed with breast cancer, had a mastectomy, had the all clear from breast oncology in Feb, to find in March i have ovarian cancer which is not connected, been through a total hysterectomy and starting chemo tomorrow.... i too have been wondering how and why!
The fear of cancer coming back is never far from my thoughts.
I am on Olaparib and Letrozole (PARP). The first for 2 years (now already half way through) and the latter for 5 years.
I have my my first grandchild due in two weeks and I fear I won’t be long in her life.
The PARPS have caused me to have arthritis, boader-line diabetes and kidney issues.
I can honestly say it’s a sh*t journey and yes why me???
I have an older sister, she’s had the tests … all clear
Hugs to my fellow teal and pink warriors xx
I was given Letrozole by oncolgy for breast cancer, and when diagnosed with ovarian i was told there was very little benefit in taking it so stop... so i havent taken the letrozole since then!
Hi Flowergirl
Good luck with chemo today!
I had 6 rounds and was not that bad….
I would imagine chemo as a little pink kissing fishies that go trough my body and by kissing they would kill cancer steam cells.
it help me a lot…..
I did all genetic testing and they didn’t find any deformation.
So no easy answer why…
just is…..
sending you big kiss for today

I was on tamoxifen after my breast cancer.
since my operation for ovarian cancer they are planing to put me on Letrozole in August .
both of my oncologist are saying I should take it.
maybe because I am 48, not sure why ….

Thank you, I am dreading it, the oncology nurse made it sound awful, with no hair, mouth sores, flaky nails etc.... i was encouraged by your post!
Maybe i should ask if i should be on it from the ovarian team, as the breast guy said no.... so confused!
It’s not great, you will have to work on it but if you see it as medicine that will help you it gets easier.
remember that everything will be ok again when you are done.
loosing hair is kind of nice, you will loose hair on your body too so no shaving , which is amazing.
not big deal will grow again….
