Dear All, My story is that I was diagnosed with stage 3A2 clear cell in March 2019. After 6 months of carboplatin and paclitaxil was NED. Joined a 2 year trial but after 10 month, had a recurrence. Have had a second round of chemo (carboplatin and caelyx) and imminently about to start on niraparib. Any positive stories would be much appreciated

Thank You

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

Having been NED it must have been extremely disappointing to discover that you'd had a recurrence of your ovarian cancer.

I didn't have the same type of cancer as you but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post yet. Replying to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be more easily seen.

While you're waiting for replies I'm sure if you have a look through some of the existing posts you'll find people who have positive stories that they've shared.

It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi Bubbalou62

    1. welcome.I am considering going onto Niraparib after completion of my second lot of chemotherapy. I do not have the cancer gene so am not sure how successful this dug may be as it works better on the gene  (as I understand from the oncologist). I really do not which way to go with the drug as there seems to be a number o possible side effects.. have you been taking the drug? How have you been?
