Following a hysterectomy and diagnosis of stage 1 ovarian cancer in 2017 I thought I wouldn’t ever have to go through chemo again. In Oct 2020 surgeons removed a mass in my pelvis which included part of my bowel so I’m left with a permanent stoma now. Histology came back that the mass was cancerous and that the carcinoma had returned. I started chemotherapy again in January and about to get my fourth cycle. I am being offered secondary line chemotherapy after I’ve finished the 6 cycles. Does anyone have any experience of secondary line chemo? I’m now diagnosed as stage 4 clear cell ovarian cancer. I’ve also been told it will keep coming back. I’m 45 and I’m trying to come to terms with the fact I may not be alive in the next 5 years. Anyone else had any similar experience?

Hi
I'm sorry to read that after recovering from ovarian cancer several years ago you've recently discovered that it's come back. This must be a very difficult time for you but I'm glad that you've reached out to this community.
If you could tell the group the name of the chemo you'll be having then people with experience of that type should be able to tell you how they got on.
Wishing you all the best
