Hi I know I've been on here before. I had my ovarian cyst scanned again today which is now just below 6cm so it's grown nearly a centimetre in just over a year. Seems to be about 2mm more every 4 months. It's not suspicious but I've been considering to have it removed as worried it will grow more and rapture plus I've had 2 other cancers in the last year and a half. I just wondered what others opinions on this. I've been told by gynecologist ever to just leave it all have it removed.
hi Miss mole
I am one of the Community Champions in the community and noticed your post hadn’t received a reply yet. I haven’t experienced ovarian cysts though I have had my ovaries removed, but by answering your post it will bump it up to the top of the discussions again.
it must be difficult to know what to do next if your gynaecologist has left the choice up to you-sometimes it can be easier if the choice is made for you! Apart from the fact that it is growing slowly, is it bothering you at all? Do you have any pain or bleeding or other symptoms from it?
This is a link to the nhs page on ovarian cyst treatment which might be helpful if you haven’t already seen it.

It must be a difficult decision to make, but how it affects you right now might be how you decide. You are concerned about it rupturing, and you will have the anxiety of ongoing scans to monitor it. I hope you can come to a decision you are comfortable with.

Hi again I just read your profile. So sorry you have been through so much. I've had 2 surgeries for my cancers but yours sounds much worse. And I tried adjuvant treatment dabrafenib and trametinib to stop the melanoma from coming back but only lasted 4 months as found the thyroid cancer and side affects. Everything is cured for now just have sullvaliance scans. Glad your OK now.
You’ve done really well to get through 2 different cancers successfully-that’s a big deal!
Yes, my surgery and recovery were very tough, but it was nearly 5 years ago now so I count myself lucky to be here thanks to the skills of my brilliant surgeons.
I hope everything going forward works out well for you-you’ve had a lot to deal with already.
