Hello, just made an account on here so not too sure how this works haha bear with me. My daughter was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she was high risk as many in her family have it and she also has endometriosis. Not sure how to support her in this challenging time, it’s the summer hols but she is about to go into Year 11 and is super lost and worried. Any advice would be appreciated thanks

  • Dear Simran,

I have no words - I’m struggling with my mums diagnosis but your dealing with your daughter of age 15/16 having this it’s just awful.

i don’t know what to say but I wish her all the best and to beat this.

    thinking of you both

  • Hello Simran.

Devastating news for your daughter and of course you and the rest of the family. Your daughter is so very young.

I have grade 3 and stage 3 peritonial and ovarian cancer. My daughter has been supporting me every step of the way through chemo surgery chemo and everything that goes with it.

We were devastated a few weeks ago when she herself was discussed at stage 4 with the exactly the same cancer. It's totally surreal. I'm trying to keep as well as I can so I can now support her and the children.

It's so difficult because we both know the outcome. I can only suggest the two of you talk openly to each other and be honest with each other and be there for her when she needs you. I hope you have someone to support you too.

The very best of luck for positive treatment. Day at a time and each day is precious. Rose

  • Hello Simran, support and lots of love is the way forward. She is very young and unbelievable that she has been diagnosed at this young age. But she will recover very quickly too. You have to be strong to support her.

Is she gene positive as it affects the therapy. I hope thats been looked into.
