Hi I’m new to here
i am 53 years old and going through the menopause.
GP referred me to hospital on 21June under heading of suspected cancer due to intermittent periods after 2 years on HRT
CA125 was ok but various scans and examinations have identified a complex 5cm cyst on ovary and this cyst contains some ‘matter’
The. Consultant is the Gynaecological Cancer Lead and he has referred me for a complete hysterectomy with a cavity ‘wash’ to be sent off for testing and a biopsy of the omenteum
pre op assessment was carried out today.
I’m worried as I didn’t ask why I’ve been referred directly for hysterectomy without further tests being undertaken. Is it because he’s pretty confident it is malignant?
