Hi I have stage four incurable ovarian cancer. I’ve just finished my 6 bouts of chemo. Now it’s a waiting game before I find out how I am doing. Will I be able to have the operation? When will the effects of chemo start to wait. Will I ever feel like me again? What if I need more chemo? Not sure I could cope with that. This last chemo has left me feeling absolutely bloody awful. Is it worth it? I do wonder!!
Hi Ritab. I completed my chemo on 2 May, previously had debulking surgery 5 Dec 2023. I lost all of my hair, eyebrows and eyelashes (starting to grow back). Chemo is gruelling and for me the fatigue was the worse side effect. Really knocked me sideways.
I am now on 3 monthly bloods and honestly feel in limbo not knowing if/when I will have a recurrence. It messes with your mind.
All we can do I suppose is try to live our lives as best we can and take each day as it comes. It's bloody hard!
Wishing you good luck xx
Thank you for your comments. Yes, it is hard and you are right we have to try our best to be positive and live our lives to the full. Good luck. X
