Hi all, has anyone else been told that after a hysterectomy to finding it was ovarian cancer to chemo

that the only way to detect any abnormalities is by touch ( internal ?
I have been told my my male consultant that CT and MRI scans don’t show abnormalities and it’s only by feeling .

Yet, after seeing a post on SHINE support group , a ladies consultant has said the complete opposite

and it’s not that the consultant isn’t for having scans he just said they can  give falsie readings and also don’t pick up what can be felt

thank you

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that you've been left confused by what your consultant has told you regarding detecting abnormalities.

I'm not a member of this group, so don't have the experience you're looking for, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

White you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
