Hi I am currently under investigation, so haven’t been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, but I am concerned.
Back in January I had an emergency CT scan for lower back pain and they suspected an Aortic Aneurysm. That came back clear but a mass was spotted on my right ovary. I was then referred to gynae and had an internal ultrasound which confirmed the mass in my right ovary , fibroids on my uterus and something else on my left ovary but they’re not too concerned about that. I then seemed to be forgotten about and after persistent phone calls I received my appointment with gynae last week.
At the appointment I was told that they couldn’t rule out malignancy, it was a complex mass and they have referred me for an urgent MRI. My Ca125 levels are in the normal range. MDT was discussed as was oncology, felt like I was being prepared for the worst. I am trying to remain positive and not jumping to conclusions.
I am post menopausal , 57 years old and I have had thyroid cancer twice in the last few years and have a total thyroidectomy. I was diagnosed with Paraneoplastic syndrome because of neurological issues, hence why the second side of my thyroid was removed. My concern is that something is lurking in this ovary.
Apologies for this long post, especially with no diagnosis, I just felt I needed to talk to others who have gone through this process.
MRI is on Monday 4th July
Hi
I forgot how long everything takes, after having Thyroid cancer twice I should know nothing is ever straight forward. So cut a long story short, MRI 4th July, waiting on results, knew my consultant was on holiday, so I waited until I thought she was back to contact them to see if results were in. I found out today that my consultant is away for a month not two weeks as I first thought. Finally got her secretary, she has offered to have a registrar look at the results. I just want to know what's happening next, although I suspect nothing until my consultant gets back.
