No Diagnosis, Going Crazy

Hello,

57(f), three adult kids, with a strong family history of BC but no OC. I’ve been having left groin pain for a few months, along with some bloating and nausea. I went for my yearly and my pap and exam were normal. The doc ordered an ultrasound (internal and external) and it was normal. My right ovary was not visible and my left was about one cm, which he said was completely normal for post menopause. He refused to do the ca125 because of its unreliability, so the next step was a gastroenterologist. I just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy, both completely normal other than a hiatal hernia, which he said could account for the bloating and nausea. A few weeks back I did visit an emergency clinic in a panic from all the stress, and they did a CT scan with contrast and bloodwork, all normal. I’ve had an appmt for weeks with a different Ob/gyn at a highly reputable hospital, so I guess I’ll keep that appointment. Or should I seek out an oncology gyn? I still have the same pinching pain, not consistently but it’s there and I know it’s not normal. Could my internal structure have changed somehow and it’s just persistent trapped gas? I know OC has no early symptoms, but could this be the beginning of it? I think I’m looked at as a hypochondriac at this point. Any thoughts or advice most appreciated.

  • Keep a three week log of any pain. Then insist on being monitored at intervals/ insist on ca125 test. Especially look out for any signs of uti with no infection/burning. I regret not keeping a three week log and chasing up. As long as you get monitored and look out for symptoms as at least you have had a scan which showed nothing up.
