Hello , I’m sorry to burden all of you but due to the fact that nowhere is open I can’t find any help for this , I’m screaming inside with worry. I found a lump inside my anus yesterday, it’s up inside approximately 1cm in. It’s smooth and moveable but fixed if that’s not a contradictory statement , I can “flick it ?l and it remain in the same position. It’s not bleeding , I’ve not got constipation, never had internal or external piles to my knowledge. It is sore / painful when pressed directly on it. It is at 6oclock position when bent over . My biggest fear is that 6 and a half years ago I went to the gps for a pulsing ovary. I had a ca125 test which was negative, I was about 55/56 at the time , I had the normal internal exams but no ultrasound, internal exams found nothing, but  at a family gathering about a month later I felt a tugging sensation on the same side , I couldn’t leave the event , so stuck it out. However the following morning I was back to normal and have not experienced the same level of sensation, since , but since then EVERY  twinge , every tightening pull , even gas pain? I’ve diagnosed myself with ovarian cancer , especially if it’s on the same side. My great weakness is fear of drs , I have never sought any further advice and am terrified that I’ve had ovarian cancer all this time and it’s now spread to my anus. I have not got and urinary problems , breathlessness , early satiety , no constipation. I am overweight and have a large upper belly above my belly button , I also have an umbilical hernia. I’m a complete and utter wreck.  I’ve been seeking some sort of resolution, but of course all surgeries are closed , I’ve sent a request to my surgery for an appt on Wednesday or asap , but I’m frightened they won’t take me seriously and just tell me it’s a pile and don’t worry. I can’t emphasise how utterly scared I am , I’ve never been to hospital and realise how stupid I’ve been . I’m sorry.

  • There is no need to be sorry and its only right to be scared , hospitals are nothing to be scared of anyone you have to see are all fantastic people who will treat you well no matter what , I can't give you answers as to what the problem is only a specialist or doctor can do that , try not to worry and be positive all the time it does wonders for your body , food wise try to eat as much green veg as you can and wait for your appointment and keep strong

Thank you for your kindness , I feel just a complete train crash waiting to happen , I’m just so fearful of doctors and dying. My dad died at 58 my mum at 63 and my sister at 31 , I just don’t want to die and leave my little dog , thank you for answering me

  • It may not happen to you don't look at this like that look at it like I'm strong and no matter what it takes I'm going to beat the hell out of this and its ok to be fearful of dying I think we all are in some sort of way but please don't be fearful of doctors and hospital they do an absolutely amazing job with everyone they see and treat ok

    Thank you

  • I know it'scary when you find a lump where there shouldn't be one but more often than not they turn out to be benign. The lump you've found sounds like it might be a smooth lump and I think cancerous lumps tend to be more jagged and not round.

I'm not a doctor but I do think that if you have had ovarian cancer for 6 years that you would have experienced some symptoms by now like pain or bleeding.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry too much as this could very easily be nothing and doctors really are nothing to be afraid of they are there to help you and medicine has advanced so much over the years that there is often a lot the doctors can do.

Just returned from the drs. Found a “hard lump” so now been referred to the 2 week exam test at the colorectal team . And the GP said I could’ve ovarian cancer for 6 and half years and not been that aware of it as it is sometimes that slow growing. I requested a CA125 and an ultrasound and she said that ultrasounds are at the moment possibly running at up to 16 weeks , but if the colorectal team requested it then the CT or MRI would show any other ovarian lumps. I am now just a gibbering wreck . Can’t process any of this , it’s some of my worst fears being made real

  • So sorry to hear about your worry, my journey started with an abnormal blood test, I was referred to the GI as it was thought I may have a slight bleed. I had all the tests with them and they did a scan. Outcome grade 3 ovarian cancer with no symptoms just bloating which I've always had. I'm well on the way in my treatment and remaining very positive. The team you have been referred to will investigate to the end an either treat you or refer you. It's not easy the waiting is horrible but keep posting we can't do anything but give you lots of virtual hugs.

Thank you for your concern , it’s very overwhelming , how on Earth do you all cope every day. This has blown my mind just the initial GP contact , god knows what will happen when I go to the hospital.
