I was told yesterday I have cancer, in both overies and it has traveled into lymph node...I will hear next week the course of action they are going to take but was hoping maybe someone else has information to help me..
So sorry you have found yourself here . For me , mentally, having a plan in place helped me enormously, it just helped me to move forward. I don't really have any information to tell you but to put your faith and trust in the medical team, let them look after you now. Ask for help from your friends and say yes when people offer their help.
Sending you all the best.
Hi ya my wife is currently having treatment for small cell ovarian cancer. After having a c t scan the consultant disided to do debulking surgery, to remove the mass and her left overy. It was then noticed that it had spread all over. She also has a mass in her lymph node she is now on chemotherapy just doing her 5th out of 6 rounds. So it sounds like surgery or chemotherapy may be the way that doctors go down
Totally agree that having a plan helps, it calmed my initial fears. It's so hard to ask and accept help I'm 66 live alone and have done since becoming a widow 13 years ago so would class myself as self sufficient. I have now accepted I do and will for some time need support. Just put your fears on this site the people on here are incredibly helpful and supportive. Let us know the plan when you get it.
Thank you all for feedback I much appreciated it..ah sorry to hear about your wife but a great big thank you for sharing with me, as to treatment,.can I ask how your wife is coping is it brutal the op and chemo....I know we all have to be thankful we can have treato and we will be brave and strong, but it is a feat of the unknown, this is why this group is so helpful....
Thank you for advice! You sound so positive, I am a bit up in the air so to say not knowing what my treatment is going to entail as you can see it's early hours and I'm finding it hard to sleep I'm sitting up with my little dog cuddling in to me keeping me company funny he hasn't left my side for day now.. probably senses something wrong.he such a special little thing he was a rescue with so many issues poor thing, but 6 years on he is finally acting like a happy confident dog.its been hard work but worth every second he's so special and I love him so much, I think he found me as much as I found him...and never so much is that true with him by my side every step of this journey I'm now taking and not sure where I'll end up but at least Bobble is with me....I do have family and friends who are a great strength to me, and ate all ready arranging things for me, my daughter has got tickets to take me to see a George Michael tribute night ( as I love George,).. and I know I'm not alone but in another way I'm totally alone..
She is coping so so well and as of 5th treatment her cancer has shrunk from 8mm to just over 2mm , the 1st treatment was hard as she was constantly sick until hospital found the right anti sickness tablets ,
Just doing her 5th chemo now and there are days when she doesn't feel good but there seem to be more days where she is almost like her old self,
With the op she was up and walking about the next day and she felt so well she had days after where she was sore but it general sje was ok as the tumor she had was just over 3 kilo in weight ,
So as for brutal no it wasn't really which was good and I hope and pray for you that it will be the same keep strong eat well and lots of green veg and if you can go for walks even if its only a little distance it's a great help for your body
Best of luck to you
Hi mark...thanks for the advice this really helps me and hollybud ..we have had diagnosis at Rvi Newcastle at present we are waiting to hear from surgeons now..so what was the waiting time from this to surgery and from surgery to start getting chemo, cheers.
Hi my diagnosis is the same as yours mine is stage 4. I have just come out of hospital as I have been in terrific pain in my tummy. They have now controlled the pain and I’m on morphine. This cancer has come without any warning or previous symptoms. I start my Chemo treatment tomorrow. Im scheduled to have 6 cycles once every 3 weeks. After the 3rd cycle they will do another CT scan to see if they can give me surgery to remove the tumor. I was really down when it was confirmed it was cancer and stage 4. I’m thinking positive now I have a start date for treatment. Hope you hear what treatment plan they have for you soon.
My wife's surgery was done within 2 weeks as her tumor was over 3 kilos and the chemo started about 8 weeks after surgery because you need to recover from the operation,
So it will depend on what they know so far about your partners tumor or mass as they call it , from sounds of it this won't take long and ,
After my wife had hers done she was feeling so much better and fingers crossed it will be the same for you and your partner again I wish you both the best and don't forget be strong you can both beat this just got to stay strong for eachother x
