Hi I’m Cathy I’m new here I was diagnosed in March 2021 with type 4 overran cancer finish cheemo next week but havnt a clue what happens after that can some one give me any advise plz
Hi Cathy, really sorry to hear about your diagnosis - and hope the chemo hasn’t been too tough for you?
You’ll most likely be given a CT scan and blood tests once you finish chemo so your consultant can recommend whatever next steps are needed. This might include surgery in some cases (although maybe you had this already? - you didn’t say), or possibly starting on a maintenance drug such as Avastin (which I haven’t had, but have been told by others I’ve met, is much more bearable with less side effects than chemo).
Although it won’t be easy, in my experience it’s best if you don’t think too far ahead - focus on finishing your chemo and follow whatever advice your medical team give you re. next steps. Maybe give them a call if you feel it would help you to have more information to prepare for your next appointment.
Hoping it all goes well for you,
love Bx
