Hi, I am about to start chemo; carboplatin, taxol and avastin for my ovarian stage 4b grade 3 cancer. In my chats with consultant about tablets I said about the 1mg mints I still use (and gave for 15 ish years) and she said no bother and keep using. Has anyone else asked this question and been told to stop taking... so don’t want anything to affect my treatment?
Hi DerbyGirl and a very warm welcome to the online community
I've had a look at the previous posts in this group to see if anyone has mentioned nicotine mints before but drew a blank I'm afraid. However, you've done the right thing in asking your consultant's advice as she is the one who will definitely know if the nicotine mints are suitable to use alongside the treatments you're about to start.
It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
