I have been having chemo for ovarian cancer after being diagnosed in Mafch after a pleural effusion, ive just had a total hysterectomy, was told no cancer found im due to have 2 more chemo the Avestn for a year, the consultants are flummoxed as they do not know where primary is coming from very worrying, ive gone along with everything they have said im 64 now and they told me I was stage 4♀️
Hi there, I am surprised that they have not done a biopsy to find out where the primary is. Having said this though maybe once you have finished chemo they may know more.
4.5 years ago I was diagnosed with stage q.v. womb cancer and stage 2 fallopian tube cancer which was serous grade 3. In March this year it was discovered that I have a recurrence but it was difficult to determine which cancer had returned. I had two biopsies and sure enough it was the fallopian tube type that had returned and spread to the Omentum. I have one more chemo next week and that is the end of 6 cycles and my tumour marker has gone down from 532 to 29 so i am pleased with that. I am stage 4 since it spread, but the plan is to have a parp inhibitor to try and hold it back. Fallopian tube cancer is treated the same as ovarian. Just to add I am 75 years of age,and otherwise fit.
Take care and stay safe.I hope that you have a good result with Avastin. Georgette. x
