Hello,
I expect this is wishful thinking but did anyone hear the news this morning about the NHS from today now being able to offer an alternative to chemo for some cancer types? It means more people can take a tablet rather than attend hospital and less side effects. It lists bowel cancer and pancreatic cancer but also says there are 50 cancer types that this applies to. I've search the internet but can't find a full list. I get the impression they have pushed it through because of the Covid risk in attending hospital.
Like I said a bit of wishful thinking on my part but wondered if anyone had any more info?
Love and hugs to all

Hi Linda
I haven't got any further information about taking chemotherapy in tablet form but I do know that it's already possible as I've seen people in other groups mention it. You could post your question in the group and see if anyone there has more information for you.

Hi LRobbo,
My mum was treated with chemo in tablet form and radiotherapy for her bowel cancer back in 2009, at the age of 80. She was given the all clear and lived another ten years before dying with dementia last year.
Best wishes, Nell xxx
Thanks Nell - your mum did so well - she must have been a strong woman.
Thank you
Linda
