I was diagnosed with stage 1c1 endemoid ovarian xancer stage 1 after a 6 inch mass was found. I had a full hyesterectomy and also para aortic lymph nodes and omentum removed 6 weeks ago.
The cancer has luckily not spread although there was surgical spillage.
I was informed by my surgeon adjuvant chemo would be given, but then by the oncology dept not as the risk of my catching covid...i have asthma.... was higher than the benefit of chemo for this type/grade
After that I have heard nothing so am just wondering what happens now? Do I have follow ups? Or just get on with things and hope.
I know how lucky I have been and am very grateful everything was acted on so quickly, but can't help but worry about the future and if it will return.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that after having surgery 6 weeks ago you've been left not knowing what follow up treatment or check-ups you should be having.
I can't help with your questions, as I had a different type of cancer, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the page where it'll be more easily seen again.
I have found this information for you on the treatment of ovarian cancer and this about what happens after treatment. This would give you some general advice but you should have been assigned a cancer nurse specialist (CNS) and given her telephone number for any queries. I found mine invaluable and I'm sure if you gave her a call tomorrow she should be able to tell you what is planned next for you.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
