Afternoon Ladies,

Hope you all doing well and staying safe!

Since my last post so much as happened! Things move quick when they discover its cancer!

2 Weeks ago today, I was still cruising along thinking BOB was a cyst, then everything changed with one blood test! My AFP test came back, 8 days late? anyway the result of that sent my consultant on mission and things moved from there. I was sent for urgent CT scan on same day, then 1h30 after scan the consultant called me to say they beleive bob is  Germ Cell tumour, because my AFP came back at 33000, which they didnt expect.

So had multiple calls with oncologist that night and the consultant, was hauled back into the hospital on the saturday to repeat the blood test and to do pre-op checks as Bob was coming out Tuesday!

Second AFP test the levels had risen to 43000, so all systems go for surgery to get Bob evicted!

Fast forward to today, I am now 10 days post op, after having Total Hysterectomy, (ovaries the lot) massive slice down tummy as Bob grew rapidly was just under 30cm when they removed him , considering 2 weeks prior was only measuring 18cm on ultrasound!

I was told Bob was a Yolk sac Tumour, very rare? but only Stage 1a, might not need chemo but as its germ cell everything goes through Charing Cross Hospital. I have to go down to them on the 11th May for further tests etc, but fingers cross that is it!

Afp has come down to 7800, so its going in the right direction!

Incredibly thankful everyone moved so quickly and they evicted Bob, he really was not a nice house guest!

Feeling better with each day!

Anyone else had this kind and stage and only had surveillance?

stay safe everyone

xx
