Afternoon ladies,

just kind of wanted to type my emotions vent a little?, as they are all over the place now. So difficult to stay optimistic and not panick with everything going on in the world at the moment.

So after my gynecologist telephone consultation on Monday , he referred me for a urgent scan, a little annoyed as he said he couldnt see why the GP referred me. I said it was because I had a pelvic mass and terrible bloating. He then went on to say would need blood test done, I had to tell him GP already did those. He then said he couldnt see all the results, I said werid GP had already phoned me and told me results, my CA125 was slight raised (but not to be concerned) and my white blood cell count was high. Anyway I had the scan this morning, the mass I have is 18cm in length :( didnt seem connected to anything, and was dead centre of abdomen, she commented on this as she said docters always ask is it more to the left or right, but this mass was in the centre stretching from belly button down to pubic bone (no wonder I am so uncomfortable and everything feels squished)

she did internal scan as well to check ovaries, she didnt say anything during the scan as there was a chaperone, she was happy to talk before chaperone arrived,  but I could see the scan on screen, as the scan was in US dep of Ante natal clinc, i have a cyst on one ovary (i had cysts before so can see on scan) other ovary looked really odd and she was measuring some space/fluid beside it...anyway she asked when my next appointment is , as consultant really needs to see you.

I said nothing was booked the consultant just said he would phone me the tuesday after the scan.

Well this afternoon received a call already back from secretary he wants a face to face meeting next thursday :( im grateful its moving quickly but at same time was a little shocked they called me 5 hours after I had the scan, wasnt expecting a call that quick.

Trying not to panic, i know regardless of what it is, some sort of surgery will be needed to remove the mass, (honestly they cant remove it quick enough I cant function normally)

well if you made it this far well done! I know it was a mouthful! just needed to put it out there! trying to be calm, and not think the worst,

take care all

x

Hi.  I'm so sorry you are in this position.  Life can really be unfair.  I was diagnoses with high grade OC, stage3-4 last November.  No symptoms other than bloating.  Was admitted to hospital for a drain and had ultrasound and CT scan there and then and received the results straight away.  I had already guessed, even so it was still a shock.  Went through all the emotions, but am now confident and positive.  Today I had my 5th chemo, which was fine and so nice to get out and see other people.  Surgery has been postponed until after the last chemo and when the CV threat has declined. The chemo has been working fine and I feel really well.  So how you are feeling at he moment is completely normal.  Look after yourself and stay safe. x.
