Hi, I’m wondering if anybody on here has germ cell cancer or had it? Iv had my 4 rounds of BEP and just had my CT just a few days ago. Waiting for results and I’m really positive but it’s only now I’m kind of sat round and thinking ‘wow, what actually just happened there, it all happened so quick’ would make me feel better seeing how other people got on...
Also, random, but I got a reaction from the bleo on my chemo and it made me itch so crazy up my back. But now I’m left with what look like ‘suicidal slashes’ all up my back and there darker than my skin. Anybody else got anything similar? I think I’m scared for life but I don’t understand why.
TIA x
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to hear that you were recently diagnosed with germ cell cancer and it's understandable why you'd like to see how other people with this have got on.
Although I don't have the experience you're looking for I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By replying to you it will bump it back to the top of the page where it stands more chance of being seen.
If you type 'germ cell' into the group's search bar you'll find a few previous posts mentioning this and you could contact the posters to see how they're getting on.
When you have a minute it would be useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi there,
how are you doing?
i been recently diagnosed with this, are you being looked after by charing cross?
can I ask what stage you were?
i cant answer your question about the chemo, as I only just had my debulking surgery awaiting to hear if I need chemo :(
xx
Hiya,
well I’m going to start of by saying I’m feeling great at this moment in time, so some positivity!
I’m not sure what Charing Cross is sorry.
i was under clatterbridge cancer centre.
To be honest they didn’t give me a stage in the beginning, maybe because they had preformed surgery beforehand not knowing it was cancer (they were adamant it was a big cyst) and because it had spread I think they were cautious to say. But eventually he told me it was 4. Now after 4 cycles of BEP, the cancer has reduced but there are remaining spots around the peritoneum so im going in for an OP in the next couple of weeks to remove the peritoneum so hopefully that will take anything remaining away.
how are you?? It’s a scary/surreal upsetting time but you will be ok! <3
so are you awaiting results? Did they know it was cancer beforehand?
wishing you the best xxx
