Hi, has anyone noticed a more bloated tummy or bigger around the 3rd and 4th week after surgery? I still feel achy in muscles and tissues which is normal but I m not sure if the tissues healing may cause a bit of swollen or bloated...To me my abdomen seem a little bigger now than on the first and second week post surgery

Thanks for your comments

  • Hi Azzurra

My hysterectomy was for endometrial cancer in 2022.

I did have some bloating and discomfort for a few weeks, that did settle on its own. I wonder if you have been a bit more active now that you are recovering- I know that my tummy would swell slightly by the end of the day- if I had been doing too much.

Maybe check with your CNS to see if it may be expected after your surgery.

  • Hi Jane,

yes! I noticed that in the evening is bigger …

and in the morning after all night rest is flat

nurses said is normal and than can last a few months

  • I have this too. I’m nearly 12 weeks post hysterectomy and have a ‘dead’ muffin top. It’s flattest in the morning. I’ve been slowly increasing my exercise to try to gently encourage it away. It feels like my core abdominal muscles need re-building…

It would be great if it’s normal and only lasts a few months!

  • I have a scar that goes up to above the belly button and one side of the tummy is slightly like a muffin ….i wish both sides would have been same but never mind
