Anyone with High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer that has spread to your lungs? If so, how did/are you overcoming it (if it can be overcome). Any long term survivors of this?

  • Hi, yes. Same diagnosis spread to left lung due to fluid and outside of liver.  Had op to remove ovaries appear fix womb etc, chemo before and after now on Bevacizumab and living quite a normal life! Happy to have a chat if you want just let me know Kissing heart

  • Thank you, Trish!

That's comforting to hear and I would love to chat.

I'm new to Macmillan and haven't quite learned how it works. Is there a chat feature or do we chat here?

I would love to know how long you've been living with this, if they cut away the cancer from your lungs, and where you went for surgery (I too want a good oncologist)!

I thought I was doomed, but you are giving me a little bit hope.

    • Hi I believe there is a way to provide my number for you to call without disclosing it to everyone else! Will try to work that out
  • That would be great!

  • Hi Usgirl

I was recently diagnosed High grade ovarian cancer/primary peritineal ..I have recently been told that I have cancerous liquid in lungs. I have not been informed of any treatment as yet, Just wondered if you had any further advice regarding treatment from your oncologist.

  • Hi Kez,

No treatment as of yet. In a few weeks (torture waiting), they are going to do exploratory surgery with a scope and decide what to do from there.

  • The waiting is awful, I'm in the same boat. Feels that longer we wait the worse it will become. I have oncology appointment tomorrow.

Where are you being treated. I'm Sheffield.

Lets hope we get some answers soon.

  • Sounds like we are all dealing with similar diagnosis, hope we can all stay in touch, its frightening to deal with this alone. I was diagnosed 8 weeks ago. Still not offered treatment as yet. Hope your treatment is going well.

  • I'm in the U.S. in California. I was diagnosed 6 weeks ago. I'm still in shock and you're right, It is very frightening to deal with this alone. Yes, let's keep in touch. We can share information and learn how to fight this together.

  • I was diagnosed in August 2024 as having cancer cells in an ovary that had an abcess on it that burst - found by chance after quick thinking GP sent me to hospital for surgical assessment.

I had a lot of fluid drained from a lung shortly after this and started chemotherapy in September. I had 6 sessions in all and a total hysterectomy and momentum removed in Feb (should have been in December but cancelled due to high dependency bed shortage). Recovered from surgery very well and start on Naraparib tablets in two days time.

I think I have been lucky in that I had no sickness with the chemotherapy - hoping things stay that way!

Feel free to get in touch any time....
