I have my consultant appt on Wednesday next week 17/07
What is concerning me is that they cannot know it's cancer for definite surely, until they send tissue samples to pathology. So, will I definitely be scheduled for surgery with a 17.5 cm mass associated with my remaining ovary, or would I just get chemo and radiation therapy? Whats the normal procedure.
This lump is impacting on my bowels and stomach with constipation, indigestion and bloating.
i just want it out ASAP.!
Hi , waiting for test results is so tough and I can relate to wanting the mass out . My experience has been that scans and biopsies enable the medical team to get a detailed understanding of whats going on and best treatments going forward. We are all different and decisions about and timing of surgery and chemotherapy depends on results of tests. I know the 17th must feel like a long time to wait, there will be a treatment plan unique to you. Hopefully you have someone with you on the 17th to offer support . I know it’s difficult , maybe write down questions you want to ask. Take care of yourself and hope next week gives answers. Xx
Hi Cheekkat
I hope that your appointment on Wednesday with the consultant goes well and brings some answers and a plan.
I totally get that you want it out ASAP- I was the same.
Jane
Hopefully you will have yours removed and very quickly and safely. With me I first saw a consultant on a Friday and by Friday pm I was having pre op checks. I had surgery on the Monday am. It seems that once the consultant is involved and the testing done- they normally seem to move more quickly.
Good Luck for tomorrow
Hi,new here ,hope it goes well for you tomorrow, you sound like you're going to ask all the right questions, I'd take notes too. I had a 5 cm cyst on my right ovary and there was no question of them not removing it! They told me this on the first consultation!! After the biopsy they only then confirmed cancer. I had my first surgery 4 weeks after the consultation. They just removed the ovaries then as they were unable to complete the full hysterectomy because some of the uterus was stuck to the bowel. I was referred to another hospital where I had full hysterectomy/ laporatomy ,8 weeks later at end of May. I have stage 2c, and just started chemotherapy last week, 6 week cycle.
All the best and take care
