Hi all I'm starting carboplatin and paclitaxel on Thursday has anyone else had this and had any side effects please what should I expect
Thanks
I've had a lot of chemo including carbo/taxol and one thing I've observed is that reactions to chemo are often highly individual. That said, you will lose your hair sadly (some people use the cold cap to slow this down), you will get some fatigue (though maybe not immediately, maybe more gradually), you may get some peripheral neuropathy (tingling/numbness in hands and feet), and you may get one or more issues with your bloods (eg anaemia, neutropenia). These are all pretty standard for this drug combo. The best approach is to wait and see how your body reacts. Make sure you take all the take home meds. I also recommend keeping a side effects log so that you can monitor how you are during the 21 day cycle, this will help you to be able to plan ahead.
