Hi.
Not sure if I am in the right place. If I am and if anyone knows anything about my diagnosis I would be greatful of some info about it.
I have been having regular lithium blood tests for 9 years. My psychiatrist who was medically trained used to mention about every blood test that there were markers in my blood indicating swelling or a slight allergy. It was dismissed.
Last summer I had a cycle accident which lead to an ultrasound which showed an anomoly in my liver.
They investigated further via ct scan with dye to find the anomoly had gone. They assumed it may have been a bleed that had been processed.
But they noticed I had swollen lymph nodes in my tummy which lead to the diagnosis of Appendiceal mucinous neoplasm. The surgeon believed it to be malignant.
I may have had this condition for years.
At this time the wheels of the NHS are turning slowly so I've had to wait 2 months for an appointment.
On the letter they suggest keyhole surgery to remove my appendix after I've had a number of other tests.
Any ideas acounts would be hugely appreciated
Many thanks.
Hi
I'm sorry to read that you have recently been diagnosed with a malignant appendiceal mucinous neoplasm. This is something that I have any knowledge of but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post.
I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you join the appendix cancer group where you might find others with the same type of appendix cancer as you. If you'd like to do this just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here.
I can see from your previous posts on the community that it was thought that you had liver cancer so that's great news that it didn't turn out to be.
It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Do you have a date for the further tests that you mention?

Hi Latchbrook,
Thanking you for your reply. I searched for this particular cancer on here but could not find it. Your suggestion of going over to the Appendix Cancer section Is a great Idea as Is your Idea of updating my profile.
If it makes sense I am all Fingers and Thumbs at the moment and very disorganised. Its been a terrible last 16 years and I had just wrestled my mental illness to the ground, straightened out my finances for the 1st time since being struck down with bi-polar, drug addiction, the list goes on. Then I started thinking, Yeah, I have done it. I even sorted out crippling anxeity and got my daughter on the straight and narrow the Wham, this comes along.
It is good that it turned out that I didn`t have Liver Cancer and If I`m lucky and this has not spread its as simple as having my appendix out. My tests are on 11th March. I am worried about a rupture. Apparently If that happens I am in a whole world of trouble sparking off cancer In other parts of my body.
I will treat It the same way I have tretaed all of my other problems and knock it for 6. Sorry I am rambling. I do not have anyone I can talk to about it. I hope I can recieve/supply support on the other group.
Many Thanks for your reply. I hope yopu are well.
Its the 1st day of Spring today! Yay!
It sounds like you've had a very difficult time over the years but have shown great resolve to get through it all
Appendix cancer is very rare so you might not find much activity in the group unfortunately. However, if you ever what to have a chat to someone the Macmillan Support Line is available on 0808 808 0000. It's free to call and they're available every day of the week from 8am to 8pm.
