Recent appendectomy revealed LAMN, (low grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm)
Looking for advice
Hi LAMN , if you put LAMN into the search tool near the top of the site and select ‘Anywhere’ this will bring up all the older posts, you can then hit reply and see if the members are still using the site.
Hi,
I'm doing OK, it's coming up to a year since I had my appendix removed. I am still waiting for colonoscopy unfortunately but had ct scan in Feb and blood tests for tumor markers recently came back normal. I get alot of fatigue and still get some pain but told that's normal. It's quite scary not knowing much about it all. How are you doing?
Hey I’ve also had LAMN of appendix and right hemicolectomy. As you said because it’s so rare I’m finding it hard to find others in the same boat. I’ve had my surgery and still feeling extremely lethargic 4 months on and struggling to come to terms with it all.
Hi
just wondered how things are for you? I’ve just been diagnosed after them initially thinking I had appendicitis then realised my appendix was full of mucin.
Hey!
there’s some Facebook groups that are super helpful for appendix cancers if you’re not already in them.
this is a UK group:

im okay but I just had my annual CT scan and im waiting for an mri to check if there’s anything wrong. feel free to message me :)
Thank you so much. I’ll check out the FB group. Appreciate you sharing. All such new and uncharted territory for me. I presume after your appendectomy and hemitolectomy you didn’t have further surgery or chemo/HIPEC and rather watch and wait with regular scans/tests etc?
Yeah that’s right! I didn’t have HIPEC or chemo and I’m on watch and wait. Mine was LAMN which is low grade and they think it didn’t burst so the chances of it spreading should be low. Although recently they noticed my ovary is swollen in a CT scan so I’m now waiting for an MRI and I’m quite worried that it’s the appendix cancer. Hopefully not!! I got referred to the specialist appendix cancer hospital in Manchester called the Christie. I would defo recommend it!! I asked my GP for the referral.
kind regards
Tor
