I would like to encourage those with this disease, I was diagnosed with this, plus Aplastic anaemia in Feb 2017. My check ups are 6 to 12months apart AND I feel good (at 75). Be strong!

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

I was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4a so I do appreciate the journey rather well.

Great to hear you are doing good. I am now into my 6th year in remission, up until Sep 2016 the longest remission I had was 9 months before going back in n treatment….. but now doing great and living the dream.

  • With which  type of non Hodgkins were you diagnosed ? Great that you feel good. I was diagnosed with marginal zone, in my lung, last November. No symptoms, found on an X-ray , and I’ve still nit had symptoms. Had two low dose radiotherapy’s to reduce and is now inactive. Like you, 6 month checkups and I’m 80 next month. And lucky enough to feel fine and still playing tennis !

  • I have Cutaneous T-Cell Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (Skin Lymphoma). CTCL is very rare with only 7 in 1 million diagnosed every year.

Apart from skin rashes this was the only symptoms I had and it actually took over a year , 6 biopsies and a few CTs to find the truth. You will see that my journey was rather long and treatment heavy.

There are a few folks in the group with MZNHL so let’s see if they pick up on your post.

  • Hi Norjoy, My "strain" was a blood / bone marrow causing ultra low platelets and white cells. I had intense chemotherapy for a month and nothing since. Amazed you still play tennis, I have just sold my golf clubs.

  • Thanks for your response, nice to hear from you.

  • Great to hear. I’m very lucky but still enjoy a good game. Winter is badminton ! When I have to give up- then I will.
