Hi, I am new to this group, I was diagnosed with NHL at the end of April and I'm now halfway through 6 rounds of chemo. I am looking for face to face counselling support for my 16 year old daughter who is struggling, we live in Kent, any recommendations would be greatly received - thank you!
Hi and welcome to this corner of the community and I do hope that your treatment is going well.
Getting support for teenage family members can be challenging at any time but during these cray times face to face support is just that harder to find.
Could I suggest you call the Macmillan Support Line open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 and talk this through with our support team as they may be able to give you some help.
We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.
Do also check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support centres in your area and also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and provide support for ALL the family.
If she is still at school or at college this is something that their support/pastoral team can look at or give suggestions.
Always around to chat.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
