Lower back pain at night.

Good morning folks,

Seeking advice. For four weeks or so now I’ve suddenly developed night time lower back pain. It is really hindering sleep and I wake early and have to get up as no matter what position I try it won’t ease. Within half hour or so of being up it vanishes, until I go back to bed at night when back it comes.

it isn’t our mattress as it only started suddenly one night a few weeks ago. Earlier this week I also had a drenching night sweat, but only the one thus far. I’ve not had any sweats for many months, so was surprised.

Anyway, I am once again wondering if this back pain is something I need to bother my team with? I’m getting aching discomfort in my right leg too, but sporadically but no numbness.

Many thanks in advance and I really hope you are all doing OKAY through this current situation.

best wishes,

Justin

  • Hi Justin ........ oh the body does make this living thing hard work at times then you add in NHL - and this can go off the scale.

Over my many years I have had lots of aches, pains and sweats come and go and on the whole none were linked to my NHL.

But as always I had to call these things into my team and if they are not concerned that this was NHL related I was sent to talk with my GP as this could be another type of medical issue - and indeed this was true on a number of occasions. So do call this in.

The one question I would ask is are you keeping yourself active in that your muscles are all getting some activity? I say this as during times of inactivity especially during the winter and now with the restrictions we have on us I find my aches and pains get worse and sleeping can be a problem.

The other thing I find is when I dont drink enough water (2-3Lts a day) I get some kidney pain especially when in bed!!.

So this could be nothing or something to check it in.

    We are doing great.

    Keep safe.
