Hi everyone hope you're all doing well in this current situation, I thought I would give you a up date of my situation.
I've been doing the self isolating quite well up to this past week but, unfortunately I've developed shingles this week which,is something I've never had before, I'm writing this with one eye closed as,I can't open it without using my fingers and,you cab imagine what it's like, with a very bad headache as well, which is sometimes unbearable.
I called 111 today for advice and,at one stage they wanted me to go up to the clinic, which I explained would be difficult as I'm self isolating etc but, luckily I didn't as I'm on the right tablets at the moment, 5 a day for 7 days hopefully they will start to work soon as,I'm fed up with the pain and only one eye open.
Sorry to moan but ,I had to get it off my chest, stay safe out there everyone.

Ah sorry to hear this Cornishman, I had shingles many years back and it crap.
As my Stem Cell Transplants wiped out all my immune system including virus immunity I can get shingles again so do have some emergency drugs in the house to take at the first signs - wishing you a quick recovery.
If you start the drugs within the first 24hrs they normally help a lot, that's what I found, I had it during treatment 6 days before my final treatment which felt naff at the time as it delayed that last.
No problem having the odd moan especially when it helps
Thanks Highlander it's quite unconformable with the headache, the tablets hopefully will start to work soon as I've got 5 too take daily, it's just annoying not being able to open the one eye,so I guess I can just rest.
Thanks again Highlander

Thanks Johnr take care and stay safe

Please do not be sorry , not had shingles but know 2 people who have both been in awful pain & Discomfort , o you poor Man & It’s just as well your in isolation know person who is highly likely to get whenever it gets near him he had so many chickenpox it made Dr nervous , How are you doing with self isolation , me I got virus & sepsis in January was isolating to get better not catch anything else as I’m Asthmatic as well as having NHL Follicular B , no I’m on watch and wait scared me so much in beginning 1 year and bit after official diagnosis my Daughter noticed night I was taking her out for Bday dinner , My Glands like to swell up in my neck under 1 arm & 1 side of bust lol , I got Biopsy under arm but it’s not big enough there to be official have both sides of my Aorta, ,
I hope you can open your eyes see ok soon, can not be easy , I was disabled before I got this so I’m in Shielded program , I have to say my biggest fear was ending up no food but people are incredible , so kind , I have 3 neighbours for emergencies I try not to take advantage of there kindness , so I ask diffrent help in turn like Emergency Jammie doggers , yes most people would not understand but my comfort items living alone with my little dog Matter ,

Hi there Purrwoman thanks for your reply it's help me a lot,so for the delay as the shingles is playing with me as,I can now use both eye and the headache's are just about bearable.
I'm doing quite well self isolating as I'm a single person and live alone but,I do miss going out for my daily walk as,last year I had a stem cell transplant, which was fun not,6weeks in hospital wasn't fun at all and, the side effects were something else, the good thing was I lost 12 kilo's in weight because, I could eat as I had a sore throat from hell and my tongue was like sandpaper but,now I'm on the right track apart from the shingles and the lock down
Take care and stay safe
