My husband has just been diagnosed with NHL after seeing a maxillary facial surgeon with suspected oral cancer.
We are waiting for a PET scan but the cancer nurse told us he had b-lineage but we cannot find it anywhere.
That means it's a b cell lymphoma rather than a t cell lymphoma. There are over 60 different types of NHL, so that doesn't narrow it down much.
The most common of the B cell lymphomas is diffuse large b cell lymphoma. Does that ring a bell? Another phrase she may have used is "activated b cell".
One thing it's important to know is that, unlike solid cancers, lymphoma is treatable from any stage.
Hi and welcome to our little corner of the community.
There is now over 80 types of NHL so getting the type spot on is very important as in the long run this frustrating wait will save time going down blind alleys.
As has been said most types of NHL are very treatable - I was diagnosed in 1999 with a rare T - Cell lymphoma and I am doing good - be encouraged.

((hugs)) from a distance.
PS - Lolie..... do you ever go to bed
It's 3:30am here, Mike, and nausea woke me from a sound sleep. I probably won't go back to bed as it's not settling quickly.
Day 3 of Prednisone, too, which isn't conducive to good sleep.
Aghh sorry to hear this
As I was in the treatment unit for 5 days/nights each cycle we were able to get the best type of anti-sickness meds in place - took a few false starts but we got there in the end - you are doing great.
Virtual ((hugs)) from the other side of the world.
Only one more cycle left after this. All things considered, I have gotten off lightly in terms of side effects - although I don't recommend developing hand-foot syndrome.
