My dad started on oral morphine yesterday which has relieved the pain but he now finds it impossible to pass water. Anyone with a similar experience?

  • Hi  second question to day.

The problems your dad is having may well be down to how his Lymphoma is reacting to the treatment - I would strongly advise you To try and talk with his team just to keep them informed.

Is he drinking lots? as this and passing fluids is the best way to protect his kidneys.

You will see from my profile that my massive mass was in my neck and the pain was way off the scale so was on very strong pain meds that only helped in some ways and the pain indeed lasted all the way through treatment and out the other side....... the mass had damaged muscles and nerves.

Thanks Mike, the lymphoma is predominantly around his kidney. It just seemed odd that the constipation immediately followed the morphine taking effect. He’s gone into hospital and has had a catheter fitted which gave him immediate relief. Sounding much more himself now Thumbsup

  • Ah this is good to hear Thumbsup

I think I was using Laxido along with all my pain meds as I did get constipated.
