Hi guys,
Up to now I've not really been too concerned about Covid-19, but am now starting to.
I've no idea whether I'm in a high risk category or not ? I'm in partial remission for stage 4 low grade NHL.
I doubt anyone can answer this, but I can find no specific advice re partial remission patients and Covid-19.
Stay safe all!!!
Sorry to see you back on the Community JustinB and yes this is a big question I am doing what O was doing during my Stem Cell Transplants....... which is basically what the government is telling all the nation. But do call your team as they know your case.
You may find this link to the Bloodwise info page about the virus helpful as it does highlight the issues living with a blood cancer with the new virus.
If you are on treatment Avoiding Infections is important....... but for me, even in remission a simple flu virus can be just as bad as this new one.
My team told me on Wednesday to stay safe and not be sorry.
Keep safe.
Many thanks Highlander.
I've been advised today by my Oncologist that I'm high risk and should self isolate and keep in touch with my team.
My problem is that I've no symptoms and being self employed, as a driving instructor, I'm not sure the guy who owns the school I work under is going go be particularly appreciative if I do.
I'm between a rock and a hard place. As you can understand, I am stuck in my car with all sorts of different students on a daily basis, in close proximity and am feeling nervous.
Hi JustinB, I totally understand the challenges when you are self employed and especially in the type of work you are doing.
6 years back when everything kicked off I was also self employed and have not worked since
