My Dad has had it confirmed today that this is what he has. Originally he went into hospital on 20th December as we thought he’d had a mild stroke (slurred speech and face droop). They found a large tumour and treated with steroids. A week later from another scan the tumour had vanished which led them to believe it would be lymphoma but he had to grow it back for biopsy. Whilst waiting he deteriorated quite rapidly with speech and right side weakness. He had the biopsy last week and we got the results today. My dad is 80 so not sure of treatment options plus up to diagnosis he’d been fitter than me. Just looking to hear from people who understand this diagnosis and next steps. It doesn’t seem to be a common one to get and I’m trying to avoid dr google!

  • Hi and welcome to our corner of the Community.

So sorry to hear about your dad and looking back over your other posts its taken some time to get a clear diagnosis, but Lymphoma can be like this.

PCNSL is rather rare but we have had a number post on the site so lets look for them to pick up on your post.

You can such the site by putting PCNSL into the stretch tool near the top.

THIS is some information that you can have look at and it does highlight some treatment routes that can be taken.

    ((hugs))

Thankyou for your message. It has been a long road already to get to this point with misdiagnosis in the beginning and in such a short timescale he’s declined dramatically.
It’s awful to sit and watch and to feel so helpless.
He was so independent and I look at him now and can’t imagine he will ever live on his own again.
I’m unsure of treatment options at the mo due to his age but hopefully will get an idea on those in the next few days. Thanks for the link. I’ll take a look at it now xx
