Hi Guys,
I was wondering if after Chemo anyone has suffered with repeated c diff and uti. My mum has been in remission for a little while. But seems to be getting infections every month, it’s as if it never goes away just lies dormant and then comes back again. It never seems to get under control. I was just hoping someone has any advice or words of wisdom to share.
Thanks Leah ps I’m getting married next month and I am feeling very blessed right now that my beautiful mum and my Best friend in the universe will be there by my side
Hi and first congratulations on getting married next month and that your mum will be right next to you on that day.
Your question? So infections yes - but all my ones were Chest Infections, Lung Fungal Infections, the RSV Virus, Pneumonia and Sepsis.
What are her team saying about controlling this? Is she on medication that can help prevent this reoccurring?.... but lets see if any of the others have had to go through this.
You could try a question to our nurse team in our ‘Ask an Expert’ section but please allow a few days to get an reply.
It would be great if you completed your profile as this really helps others when answering. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. All the best for next month xx
Thanks Mike,
Basically they are just saying it’s one of those Things that could keep happening and she’s just going to have to ride it out. It’s ironic because the cause of c diff is the antibiotics and so is the treatment. You can be a carrier of c diff or it goes through a cycle of coming back for a time I just hope mums the latter. I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with it. It’s a nasty thing and it knocks her for six when she gets it. With the wedding fast approaching I’m just worried she will be in hospital and won’t be well enough to come. We’ve gotten so far and I think one of the main things that has gotten her through is the wedding so we would all be heartbroken. Yeah I keep meaning to update the profile it just keeps escaping me I will try to update.
Thanks xx
Lets all agree that she will be in top form for the wedding and she will be dancing on the tables-ish
