Hi all quick update from me, its 10 years ago today I was told I had lymphoma and the journey started, 8 rounds of rchop and a couple of delays and a stall at the end due to a false positive scan but I got there and can proudly say I am a good stat.

So to all those about to start or still struggling with treatment or post treatment, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, so hang in there and hope to see others celebrating there 5yr mark and being discharged and then may be you will remember to return and share your 10 yrs in remission so I am now officially cured.

  • Great update and full of hope John.

Well, I think congratulations are in order John, that's great news.

I think so many here will be able to easily reach 10 years with the rapid improvements in treatments available.

I've got my eye on a modest 2 years in 3 months.

    Best Wishes

  • A really good milestone John, you and Mike have really helped me on my journey since I discovered the site, so thank you. I’m just entering my fourth year and have moved to 6 month check ups so fingers crossed. Everybody’s journey is different but many of the challenges we face are the same. Today is our Ruby Wedding another milestone that we never thought we’d see when I was initially diagnosed with terminal stage 4 cancer with a two week prognosis. Now we are thankful for every minute we have together and in the past 3 years we have welcomed new little members to the family who bring us great joy. We have learnt to look forward not back and to enjoy each day.

  • Hi Hilary, the milestones do come along and we need to celebrate everyone of them.

Happy Ruby Wedding anniversary - 1979 was a good year as our Ruby is next Sunday xx

Hi John. 10 years that’s wonderful news. So very glad for you. I will always be grateful to yourself and Mike for all the wise and comforting words you both have given to me. Lots of hugs x

  • Wonderful news John. I haven’t been on this site for long, only five months but your wise words have enabled me to see the positives and the way forward  when initially I couldn’t see a future.

Many congratulations Johnr. So happy for you, wish you a lot more decades of happy, healthy life.

I saw this post, just when I was feeling scared because of my sister's health. She is having her second last chemo session tomorrow for lymphoma-4. Thank you....I am back to feeling hopeful because of your post.

    Congratulations again.

  • Hi Sups56, pleased to read you have regained a positive feeling as that was the sole purpose of this post, to reinforce there is always some good, even if you have to look for it.

Hilary and Mike congratulations on your wedding anniversary's I have not made 40 years yet but not far behind and I actually had chemo on our anniversary in 2009.

everyone thanks and pleased to read that the post is helping in numerous ways, keep those positive vibes and you will be ok.

oh and sorry for so much use of the word positive I know that can cause some irritation at times during treatment.
