My wife (40) was diagnosed with diffuse b cell non Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage 1A and completed her third round of R-CHOP on 8th Dec. Her radiotherapy is due to start on the 11th Jan. Each cycle of R-CHOP lasts three weeks so when the R-CHOP has worn off it’ll be 29th Dec.
How much time should there be between when the R-CHOP wears off and the start of radiotherapy.
We meant to ask tonnes of questions at each consultation but due to stress and nerves we forgot and it’s a nightmare getting hold of anyone with the right info on this.
Hi FranklinMac and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.
I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Low Grade NHL eventually reaching Stage 4a back in late 2013 so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.
So if your wife’s chemo stopped in 8th Dec and based on what my SCN said to me…… the chemo will still be “doing it’s thing for a good 4-6 weeks as the effects of these treatment is accumulative”
I have talked with folks who have had a a good 8 weeks space between the end of chemo and starting radiotherapy.
